Research Priority: Healthcare

The Khalifa University Center for Biotechnology (KUCEB) focuses on applying genomics to human health, disease and medicine to the treatment and welfare of individuals of Arab descent.

The center works in three broad areas of health: metabolic diseases (i.e. diabetes, coronary heart disease); cancer, focusing mainly childhood cancers; and mental disorders.

KUCEB, which was established by KUSTAR in 2015, seeks to enhance the understanding of disease to enable clinicians to promote, protect and preserve the wellbeing of Arab communities.
