Has D.Sc. in nuclear engineering from MIT. He is the founding Dean of Academic Programs and has been Professor of Nuclear and Mechanical Engineering at Masdar Institute, Abu Dhabi since Spring 08. He is responsible for launch, operation, development and accreditation of eight MSc programs and Interdisciplinary Doctoral Degree Program. He has been Visiting Professor at Nuclear Engineering Department, MIT since Spring 07. From Fall 02 he spent five years as Associate Professor at Nuclear Engineering Department, King Abdulaziz University. He was Faculty Fellow at Idaho National Laboratory in 2004 and 2005. Before that he was Principal Engineer for ten years at Westinghouse where he developed methods for nuclear reactor design applications.

His research interests include computational reactor physics, in-core nuclear fuel management optimization, advanced reactor design, application of nuclear systems for water desalination and hydrogen production, micro- and nano- fluidics development and analysis and sustainable energy.
