COMPENSATION

The Masdar Institute maintains a compensation and benefits program reflective of its mission and values. The total compensation program offered includes salary, merit based increases, and a wide range of benefits. The Masdar Institute considers the competitive market in the region, the relative value of each position to the Institution, individual performance, qualifications, and experience when compensating employees. The total compensation program is designed to enable Masdar Institute to successfully attract, motivate, develop, retain, and reward employees for their knowledge and contributions made to the institute within the limits of a non-profit institution.

MERIT INCREASES

The Masdar Institute is committed to linking annual merit increases to employee performance during the year. The opportunity for an annual merit increase is based on an individual’s annual performance evaluation. The purpose of the annual performance review is to ensure employees receive candid performance information for the year and clear goals and development plans for the next year.

COST OF LIVING ALLOWANCE

The Institute provides monthly Cost of Living Allowance for employees according to their grades.

Employees who wish to obtain their annual Cost of Living Allowance in a lump sum to help settle their annual rent can do so by requesting an interest-free housing loan from the Institute.

SOCIAL AND CHILD ALLOWANCE (UAE NATIONALS)

UAE Nationals holding a family book shall receive a monthly Social and Child Allowance.

UTILITIES REIMBURSEMENT

Masdar institute shall reimburse its employee for actual water and electricity charges.

EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE FOR DEPENDENT CHILDREN

Masdar Institute will provide assistance with educational expenses incurred on behalf of eligible dependent children, which allows them to continue their education in a manner comparable to their home country.

ANNUAL LEAVE TRAVEL TICKETS

UAE National Employees
UAE National Employees are entitled, once a year to receive a vacation airfare allowance.

Expatriate Employees
All Expatriate employees and their eligible dependents (spouse and children) are eligible for one round trip ticket between Abu Dhabi and their home country on an annual basis.

ANNUAL LEAVE

Masdar Institute grants annual leave with full pay per year to permanent full-time employees.

HEALTH INSURANCE

Masdar Institute has contracted with a local insurance company to provide all Masdar Institute employees and their eligible dependents with quality medical insurance coverage.

GROUP LIFE AND ACCIDENTAL DEATH INSURANCE

Masdar Institute has group life coverage for all full time employees, which begins on the first day of employment. Permanent and temporary disability is also covered. The insurances are provided at no cost to the employee.
